CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — The Ajax Turner 50+ Center is calling on the Clarksville community for support as it works to continue providing meals, activities, companionship and other services for local seniors.
The center serves as much more than a place for older adults to receive a meal. Seniors are able to participate in exercise, games, educational activities and social gatherings designed to help them remain active, engaged and connected with others.
For some seniors, the center may also be one of their primary opportunities to socialize and spend time around others, helping reduce feelings of isolation and loneliness.
Supporters of the center are encouraging residents and local businesses to help through donations, sharing information about the center and other forms of community support.
Organizers say their goal is to continue providing seniors with a welcoming environment where they can build friendships, stay active and have access to meals.
Community members are being reminded that the seniors receiving these services are someone’s parents, grandparents, friends and neighbors, many of whom helped build and shape the Clarksville community.
Those who would like to donate can support the Ajax Turner 50+ Center through its GoFundMe:
