Walmart customers will soon have another way to pay at checkout.
The company says it will begin rolling out Tap to Pay at select Walmart and Sam’s Club locations starting Monday, August 24, 2026. The feature is expected to reach all U.S. Walmart stores and Sam’s Club locations by the end of 2026.
Once available, shoppers will be able to use eligible contactless debit and credit cards, phones and smartwatches by tapping their device or card at the payment terminal.
The rollout will continue into next year, with Walmart saying Tap to Pay is expected to be available at fuel stations by mid-2027.
