CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — A fight involving multiple students prompted a staff member to place Northeast Middle School on lockdown Friday morning, leading to a large law enforcement response on campus.
According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, the investigation determined that no shooting occurred at the school.
School Resource Officers are investigating the incident with assistance from the Clarksville Police Department and Clarksville-Montgomery County Schools.
The school remains on hold while the investigation continues. Officers are also remaining on campus as a safety precaution for students and staff.
Parents were notified by school officials that the school had briefly gone into lockdown following reports of a potential weapon on campus. Officials said there was no threat to school safety and everyone was safe, but the school would remain on lockout while the incident was thoroughly investigated.
