CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has confirmed that 33-year-old David McRae has died after being shot by Clarksville Police officers Monday morning.
The incident happened shortly before 11 a.m. Sept. 14 in the 100 block of Fairview Lane.
According to the TBI, officers were called to a domestic disturbance after a woman reported that her adult son was outside with a firearm and had already fired the weapon.
Investigators say McRae then fired at three responding officers, who returned fire. McRae was struck and later died from his injuries.
✅ No officers were injured.
The TBI is now conducting an independent investigation, including collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. Its findings will later be turned over to the District Attorney General for review.
